Is it just me, or does Smallville take place in Kansas in the 1950′s? I mean, that’s when Superman was growing up, right?
In 1950′s Kansas, there were no:
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon-style ninjas
Teleporting girls
Guys with insect abilities
Fire-weilding football coaches
Shapeshifters
Salesmen with Kryptonite-powered hugs
and so on…
Also, why does everyone in the show have something to do with Kryptonite? Kryptonite tattoos, shards, stones, necklaces, etc. If I were Superman I’d get the hell out of there because it seems like Kryptonite is as common as parking lot gravel there.

I don’t know if this is the right episode, it’s called Obsession, it’s Season 3 episosde 14… Obviously from the title she became obsessed with him. I don’t really remember much about it.
And That other answer is uneducated. All of the crazy stuff happens in Smallville because of the Meteor Rock(Kryptonite). There was a meteor shower many years ago and that brought Clark to Smallville along with lots of Meteors. These Rocks cause mutations in people who are exposed to them. In fact Luthor Corp does many studies on these amazing meteor rocks.
